About Reiki Training Reiki energy can be channelled by people who have been attuned by a Reiki Master for healing on the self, and others. It can even be used on animals and plants. It is a gentle hands-on therapy which anyone can learn. Reiki training is offered in stages, with attunements which open up and refine the latent healing abilities of students. Is Reiki new to you? Reiki: Opening the door to the authentic self There are many different schools of Reiki. I teach Tera-Mai Reiki which is closely based on the system and attunement process taught by Reiki’s founder, Mikao Usui in the 1920’s in Japan. This system focuses on self-development and is both empowering and enlightening. Becoming a Tera-Mai Reiki student can make a positive difference to your life. Students often say they will leave the training day feeling like a different person to the one who began the morning stepping over the threshold into Reiki. Reiki First Degree Training The first step in your exploration of Reiki. The training takes place in the course of one day. It includes: A thorough introduction to Reiki energy, its history and origins During the morning you will participate in a meditation and an attunement process which opens up the channels through which Reiki flows. This attunement enables you to use Reiki for your own benefit and for the benefit of the people around you- your family and friends. This ability will stay with you for life, you will never lose it The hand positions for self-healing are demonstrated and experienced along with the positions for healing others During the afternoon you will start to work with your energy in different ways. You will learn to feel your own energy and practise feeling other people’s energy You will learn about the aura and how to scan it Reiki 1 is traditionally much more about working on yourself than it is about working on other people so you will be introduced to different approaches to treating yourself and experience your first self-treatment ‘meditation’ You will be shown all the basic Reiki hand positions and you will practise giving and receiving Reiki under the close guidance and support of your teacher. (Eventually most students find that they follow their own intuition about where to position their hands, but it is reassuring to have some basic guidelines to start with.) You can also experience the Violet Flame attunement (see Violet Flame notes for details), six weeks or so after your Reiki First Degree. There is no additional fee for this attunement The Manual The course manual is comprehensive and covers everything you are taught on the day so there is no need to take notes. There is extensive background information on Reiki, an up to date booklist and list of contacts. The Certificate Every student receives a professionally designed and produced certificate at the end of the training day, displaying the unique seal of my Reiki school. Your certificate confirms that you have received training and attunement in Tera-Mai Reiki and have satisfied the requirements of the First Degree of Reiki. Course Fees and Concessions I feel that is important that as many people as possible have access to Reiki training and so I provide concessionary rates for those on benefits and pensions. Reiki I day course: £80 Concessionary rate: £40 £20 deposit paid in advance, and the balance paid on the day of the course. Fees include manual and certificate. Ongoing Support and Training All Reiki students are welcome to join a Reiki share group. Students exchange and receive treatments, refine and add to their knowledge of Reiki, take part in group meditations and in sending distant Reiki to friends, families and personal concerns.
